Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) Certifies the Kraken Filter

The Kraken Filter, with a proven 80% total suspended solids (TSS) removal rate is now certified by the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), “for use in post-construction stormwater controls.” The Kraken Filter’s low loading rate allows it to keep maintenance needs low and prevent clogging issues often found in other filter systems advertising high loading rates.

The Kraken Filter is a highly effective stormwater system that will continue to gain accreditation in new regions of the country and give every stormwater engineer and development huge advantages:

  • 89% Total Suspended Solids (TSS) removal per New Jersey Corporation for Advanced Technology (NJCAT) protocol
  • 72% Phosphorus, 54% Zinc, and 52% Copper removal
  • Built-in Pretreatment Chamber captures Trash, Sediments, Debris, and Hydrocarbons
  • Loading Rate of 0.05 gallons per minute (gpm)/sq.ft. for Minimal Maintenance
  • High Flow Rates & Maximum Surface Area
  • Membrane Filter Cartridges can be easily removed & cleaned by hand
  • Filter Cartridge dries out between storm events to prevent Biofilm growth which can cause clogging and other performance issues
